I've been rather clucky for awhile. I think it might be something to do with the fact that so many of my friends are now pregnant or have just had babies and I did it all upside down (in terms of timing).

After solo-mummying it for the first kid, and then three kids in three years after getting married, that was it. Full stop.

But...sheesh...babies are just so cute, aren't they? I just love the age from about eight months to three years when they just look at you so adoringly, their minds fully exploring the world. I look at kids of that age and I think that all things are possible.

But I digress! So...the dh started nagging me for a kitten. We've already got a big ginger one, but noooo he wanted another. He, along with three of the sprogs took me to the local pet store to stare adoringly at a cat. Being the mean mummy I am, i said NO! I will not be buying pets from pet stores when there are so many animals without homes.

The next thing I know, they've found a kitten on Trade Me. Free to a good home. Was found a stray, no mummy and cute as a button. I caved. Of course I did - wouldn't you??

Jet has arrived in our home. He's the cutest wee thing. BUT he needs toilet training. He wakes up around five every morning wanting attention. He moves around in bed, keeping me awake. He demands. He meows. Sure, there's the cuddly moments but this morning when I checked the clock (5.15am) I had this dawning realization that this is NOTHING compared to a new born.

My cluckiness cured. By a kitten. Four kids is enough :)
