I think being female entails "worry mode"???!! I love your post, it's so very true. I worry constantly about all sorts of things instead of focusing on the solution... a lesson for today and many tomorrow's.... by the way, love your pic :D

Single mum looking for new friends!!

Heya there
thanks for stopping by :o) Cut a long story short: I'm a single mum to my beautiful daughter Hana Jade who is 17 months old and my pride and joy! I have very recently moved to Christchurch and don't really know anybody here, so keen to meet other mums! I want to study full-time next year when Hana turns 2, which is the reason we moved here. My family is overseas (apart from my brother) and Hana's dad lives in Wellington, he buggered off when I was 8 months pregnant (and yes she was pl… Continue

Hi Carly,

Sorry been awhile sincec we were last in contact. I have been busy planning my wedding - and my bestmate hasn't got a job at the moment so she has been around alot :) which is nice.
We will have to make a point to catchup this week sometime :) Next nice day we have that we both have some spare time (between 10 and 1 is best for me) we should meet in town :)

Hi Carly,
So sorry to hear you had a hard time from your inlaws! They will be the ones who lose out in the end if they don't make the effort.
Good on you for doing the dating thing. I think it will be quite exiting when I decide to go there again. But not ready for that yet. Only two months since my break up and I am only now starting to enjoy my freedom. Having to please no one and enjoying my time with my kids without having to compromise on the values my ex and I used to disagree over.
I do look forward to having another change to be in love. I think I will be a bit weary though. My mum assured me that there is more than on lid for each pot. And I agree.
Nice to hear from you.
PS: When we lived in CHCH I thought the poeple were really friendly too! I joined the plunket group in central CHCH. They were a cool bunch of mums. My kids older now, 3 and 6.

Hi Carly
Like you I have contemplated going back to my country of birth when my Kiwi husband dumped us. But I have lived here for ten years and I know it is the best country for kiddies. I live rurally and they are so happy here.
South Africa has a lot to offer, but it is not as safe and free as here. And I would have to really start over. So I am here to stay for better or worse.
My ex is the only one I think that wishes I would go. As I am staying with my in-laws. They support me and the kids 100% and we plan to build on the farm in the future. Strange but true. They were hit hard by this and are saddened that their only grandchildren are having to go through this.
Oh well such is life. We decid to stay. He decided to go llive with his girlfrien about an hour and a half away.
Are you settled now? I lived in CHCH for three months. Loved the place!

Looks like you are starting to meet some christchurchians ;-) which is awesome. Take care and enjoy your weekend too x
