Last year (and dont get me wrong....I'm not complaining ....) I had an extraordinary amount of women spending thosuands of dollars on artwork for their children. They would purchase work directly from my web-site or.....commission individual or personal pieces.
Now in the past,  I have always made the pieces for my kiddywink's rooms and would never spend such HUGE dollars on them......but for some reason last year....ti became quite a phenomenom! Well in my experience anyway.

I know my work would possibly be appealing in the fact that it is somewhat illustrative....and always BRIGHT....but its not cheap!
I sell priints of the works too for $15 each.....and they truck out the door regularly. But I expect that. They are fun , easy and ...cheap!
Just wondering what other mums think!

i wouldn't spend thousands of dollars on artwork for a child, unless it was an investment piece by an artist that was going to be worth a lot in future (that may be you, i don't know). in which case it's not so much art "for" the child, as an investment in their financial future ...

what's your website? interested to have a look :O)

Heya Monika, The set of paintings we got for our baby girls room was by a local artist and was a series of 6 paintings total but all small in size they went together though to make a make picture... if this makes sense? We spent $65 on that set and the non kiddy one I brought in christchurch cost us $79. I dont mind paying more for artwork as it does last along time if cared for and it always ads extra warmth (Ya know the fuzzy warm feeling you get when you walk into rooms lol)to houses and rooms.

Gorgeous art work!

Life time pieces that I would personally only look at for an older child and have something that reflected their personality. I thought your prices seemed reasonable for the work involved and if you are selling them at that price - brilliant.
I know some artists hire out their work which is a good option too. ( some hire and rental fees go to cost of painting that they end up buying!)
