Did anyone else see on the news about US woman who tweeted her way through an abortion (using pills - RU-486)?

She said she did it because she want to open up discussion, and to let women know that it is not as bad as they may think.

Her twitter page can be found here

What are your thoughts about this?

I think it's quite off, to tweet about something so personal. I certainly wouldn't do it! But yeah, each to their own

People need to know that it's okay to have an abortion when it's needed. e.g. medical reasons or child is conceived from rape but otherwise.. honestly.. women need to really think these things over. I agree with the 'if you are ready to have sex, you're ready to have a baby'. I, personally would never have an abortion.. but those who do want to. seriously think about it before you do it!

Each and everyone to their own!
I don't think abortion is ever thought of lightly!
It's proberly the biggest and hardest decision of a persons life to make that call.
And their are often alot more factors than rape and medical issues.
We should never judge anyne till you know their history etc.
I also think that your quote if your ready to have sex your ready to have a baby is not quite appropraiate.
Some kids, teens etc aren't very educated on sex these days. And I wasn't ready for a baby when I first started having sex I still wasn't when I had my first daughter.
There needs to be better education in place for young adults in regards to sexual education.

I do pregnancy counselling and I could not agree with your more! I hope once I have my preg counselling qualifications I can go get my sexual education ones and create a education programme that will actually be worthwhile for teens.

I too think that having a abortion shouldn't such a "taboo" subject. It is a womans right and it is not fair how people are judged these days, unless you have had one, no one else knows what you are going through!! but tweeting it?! come on!
